A core component of Lessons from Auschwitz is that students are tasked with sharing what they have read, heard and learnt with their peers and wider community through the Next Steps component of the course.
Through their Next Steps projects, students have an opportunity to reflect on the journey they have taken through the project, and to consolidate their knowledge.
Having heard the first-hand testimony of a Holocaust survivor, viewed artefacts, heard music and visited the Auschwitz Birkenau Memorial Museum, we hope that students will be inspired to create something meaningful to help their peers to understand the Holocaust and its contemporary relevance.
The Holocaust shows us what can happen if antisemitism, prejudice and hatred are left unchallenged. By participating in this project, students are helping to ensure that the victims of Nazi persecution are not forgotten. They will become Holocaust Educational Trust Ambassadors in their schools, colleges and communities and help to ensure others benefit from their participation on this course. This is a great responsibility but also a privilege, to carry forward the legacy of the past for the future.
More information and guidance on how to complete the Next Steps element of the project will be provided at the start of the course. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
