Responding to the website of images created by Shahak Shapira, Karen Pollock MBE said:
"This initiative from Shahak Shapira is hugely thought provoking. Before visiting Auschwitz with teachers and students we discuss what might be the right or wrong way to behave, what to do with a camera and how to experience something not solely through a camera lens or iPhone. So when we see images at memorials of selfies or pictures that might be deemed insensitive or ignorant, rather than chastise or humiliate, we choose to open up the conversation and challenge. I think that is what Yolocaust is doing too – you cannot fail to stop and think when you see these images.”
